So I hated to inform Mama Ford today that I have turned soft. My little sister has recently begun planning her wedding and I for one have NEVER seen this side of the planning process. Where does this softness of mine come into play? You try looking at dozens of different websites promoting locations, dresses, tuxes, centerpieces, and cakes and see if estrogen isn't coursing through YOUR veins when you get done.
By no means am I trying to sound bitter but I did not realize what an amazing business matrimony can be. Do you know how many times you can argue with a bride and groom about cutting down their guest list? I did not think it was possible to discuss a list this much. Perhaps a list of school supplies for my class but never an invite list.
This is the first wedding where a bride has asked me to pick out dresses. I have had brides ask for my opinions and secretly they had their own ideas. But this is the first time that my little sister said, "you get to choose your dress. Pick away!" The options are endless and unfortunatly, my size keeps changing so I don't know what size I will be by the time the wedding rolls around.
Speaking of times for the wedding to roll around...there is no date picked yet! There are months being discussed but no official dates yet!
At the end of the day, I hope we (bride, groom, parents of both parties, sister of the bride) can remember this day is about two amazing people who love each other and want to commit to each other for the rest of their lives. Hopefully, that is the agenda that will be fulfilled at the end of this shindig.
In case you cannot see, I am completely out of my element here. My estrogen is running rampant. I have not worked out in about two weeks. I'm up to my eyeballs in planning for a class I haven't met yet. And I'm feeling lazier than ever...
This is a summer for the record books...
You are welcome to join me on my journey...even though I have several going on right now. I am a Christian who is blessed beyond her worth. I am a free spirit who thinks outside of the box and pulls others outside with her. I am a third year teacher who speaks long before she thinks. I am a daughter, a sister, and now a sister-in-law. I am a work in progress...

The Oldies Kicked My Tail...
So, for the fourth of July I thought it would be oodles of fun to try my first 5K. (I don't know why...) It was awesome! I'm no super runner and I did not finish ANYWHERE near the front of the pack, but I completed my goal. I FINISHED A 5K! For those of you that actually know me, understand that I am not a runner. I don't enjoy running (yet)! I don't think about it all the time but there is some kind of high that hits you after completing something you could never do before!
